Västerås Brass Academy is a brass band for children and young people. Learn trumpet or cornet, French horn or tenor horn, baritone, trombone, tuba or percussion, play in the band and perform on stage – whether you are a beginner or already play.

Curious? Come and try an instrument at a rehearsal, Fridays 4.30–6.30 pm. No experience needed, we lend instruments.

The Step Programme
Eight steps – at your own pace
Our teaching programme is based on the British ABRSM model (Associated Board of the Royal Schools of Music). Every level you pass earns a diploma, a trophy and a gift card that grows with each step. Exams are held via video link with ABRSM-affiliated examiners.

First notes
Holding the instrument, embouchure and the first notes.

Simple tunes
Play familiar tunes and read music at an easy tempo.

Ensemble playing, rhythm and dynamics with others.
