Västerås Brass Academy (VBA) is a meeting place for everyone who shares a passion for music and community. We are a non-profit association that gives children and young people the chance to grow, be inspired and have fun through music.
With us, music takes many forms – from the joy of playing in small groups to bigger events where we gather around what we love. We cherish tradition and history while staying curious about new expressions and modern influences.

Leaders and instructors
Christer Åberg
Leader and conductor. Christer has a lifelong background in music and trained as a conductor in England. He is the tireless driving force behind VBA, planning and leading the band forward.
Nour Ramadan
Chair of the association. Nour is an experienced unit manager and director in social work, with a particular focus on foster care and outpatient support, and has deep expertise in supporting young people. Responsible for the association and contact with the municipality and sponsors.
Toon Jochnick
Information officer. Handles information to members and parents, the website and social media.
